The menu is a vibrant celebration of Italy’s rich culinary heritage, with dishes thoughtfully crafted to bring out bold, balanced flavors and textures. For starters, the Schiacciata Bianca Focaccia is often remarked upon by guests as “some of the best bread I have ever had” — its airy softness paired with a fragrant tomato sauce and cheese offers a perfect prelude to the meal. The pastas here truly shine, from the zesty and balanced spice of the Rigatoncini all’Arrabbiata, to the luscious creaminess of Gnocchi Fritti, an inventive twist on cheese balls that delivers a delightfully rich mouthfeel. The Linguine Al Limone and Pici Cacio E Pepe carry classic depth and authenticity, each bite bursting with fresh, vibrant Italian flavors that bring a comforting yet exciting sensation.
Hearty mains like the New York Strip and the flavorful Scottadita Di Agnello showcase expert grilling and thoughtful seasoning, while the Bistecca Alla Fiorentina Station allows diners to immerse in a traditional Tuscan steakhouse experience right in the heart of Chicago. For those with a sweeter tooth, the Tiramisu and the silky Mousse Au Chocolat offer an elegant finish, while the refreshing Pear Gelato provides a clean, crisp palate cleanser.
The extensive wine list is a connoisseur’s dream, featuring celebrated bottles from revered Italian regions. From robust Barolos and Chiantis to bright, crisp Tuscan whites like the Guado Al Tasso Vermentino, each pour is chosen to perfectly complement the bold and delicate flavors present throughout the menu.
What truly elevates the Tre Dita experience is the impeccable service. Waitstaff are consistently praised for their knowledge, attentiveness, and warm personalities. Whether it was Tristan L’s engaging sense of humor or Ruben’s expert menu guidance, guests feel genuinely cared for from the moment they arrive until the last bite.
Tre Dita isn’t just a meal—it’s an immersive celebration of Italian culture and hospitality wrapped in stunning surroundings and culinary excellence. Whether you are a local or a traveler, dining here promises a richly satisfying experience that lingers in your memory long after the last course is served.
Worth the visit. Very formal and expansive ambiance good city views tableside. Our waiter was very nice and helpful as well. The food was all solid. The bread was soft supple with a great tomato sauce and cheese. The gnocchi fritti was unique take on cheese balls and very creamy. All three pastas were unique and classic flavors done very well. Balanced spice with red saucy flavor on the arrabiata. The cacio e Pepe classic pasta with creamy and perfect pasta texture. The limon pasta was the most unique and best from the three as it’s unique and lemony but not enough to put you off; very well executed. The mocktails were decent have had better, espresso martini was very good they are also very expensive for the taste. The tiramisu was not really tiramisu our least favorite dish I think it didn’t do justice to the classics flavors of tiramisu; youcould skip it. Overall worth the trip for some of the best pasta in town and great location!
This is a bit of a delayed review.. but I needed some time to process this experience. I had heard a lot about Tre Dita and figured it was finally time to check it out. My partner and I first started with the Schiacciata Bianca. Some of the best bread I have ever had. Then we followed this up with 2 pasta: Linguine al Limone and Pici Cacio e Pepe. Both dish brought incredible depths of flavor and clearly cooked by chefs that know what they are doing. Additionally, we order the Tagliata di Manzo which was also cooked to perfection. Then to wrap it all up we ordered the dessert (I cannot remember the name of it). Overall, this was a great experience with great service and don’t be scared to sit in the bar area! We will be back!
Tre Dita exceeded all our expectations. We had the bruschetta classica, rigatoncini all’arrabbiata, New York strip, and scottadita di agnello, Everything was delicious. Most importantly service was the best, in particular the staff setting up and cleaning up our tables. Our waiter Tristan L was wonderful and had an amazing sense of humor which made our experience even better. Thanks everyone for going on and beyond. Highly recommend.
I’m not sure why it took us so long to dine here, but it has quickly become our favorite restaurant. From the moment you walk in, the décor and warm, welcoming atmosphere make a strong impression. Each dish that we ordered had outstanding flavors. I recommend all the dishes that we ordered. We also enjoyed our waiter, Ruben. He guided us through the menu and was spot on with all his recommendations. We can not wait to return
It’s no exaggeration to say that Tre Dita may have the most stunning dining room in Chicago. The tall ceiling and soaring windows are nothing short of breathtaking. Though only on the second floor of the St. Regis, the view from Tre Dita is spectacular especially during sunsets. I have to say there isn’t a bad seat in the house. As evening falls, the glow of the lights softens and bathes the room with a warm, romantic atmosphere that feels almost timeless. The food, while secondary to the spectacle of the space, is still good. My friend said the fiori di zucca was the best he had had outside of Italy. The bruschetta fegatini di pollo paired silky, umami chicken liver mousse with a sweet cipolline in agrodolce. This delightful combination would have been heavenly with some toasted sourdough or a softer/thicker bread but instead it came with rock-hard rusks that were jarring to chew. Likely this choice was because the small portion size of the spread would have looked strikingly disproportionate with a thicker bread. Linguine al limone was cooked to al dente perfection with a bright, balanced sauce. The filet mignon was cooked just right and incredibly tender. Kept simple with salt, pepper, and a nice char, the spotlight was fully on the beef itself. Unfortunately, the underside of the steak was overly charred, leaving such an acrid bitterness I had to trim away. Tre Dita is a restaurant where the atmosphere outshines the kitchen but that’s more a testament to the jaw-dropping view than a knock on the food. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a more stunning setting for dinner in Chicago. Come for the space and you'll also eat well while you're at it.
Tre-dita truly stands out as one of the absolute best fine dining destinations in Chicago. From the moment we were seated, the experience was top notch, delivering an evening of culinary excellence that we won't soon forget. The fact that they make their pasta in-house is evident in every bite. Their gnocchi was so delicious—light, pillowy, and perfectly sauced. But the true revelation was their pesto pasta, which was genuinely one of a kind; a fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced dish. For the main course, the steak was superb—super soft, incredibly tender, and cooked to absolute perfection. It practically melted in my mouth! The mocktails are wonderfully quenched thirsting and refreshing, making for a sophisticated pairing with the meal. Beyond the incredible food, the service is simply top notch. Attentive, professional, and knowledgeable, the staff enhanced the entire dining experience. If you are looking for a flawless fine dining Italian meal in Chicago, Tre-dita is an absolute must-visit. Five stars without hesitation!
We really enjoyed Tre Dita after a long day of touristing. Although we were still dressed as tourists, we were welcomed in and had a great table overlooking the skyline. The dinners were excellent with fresh hand-made pasta (you can see them making it as you come in) with nice variety to the menu. The only little glitch was our server who didn't really seem he wanted to be there. We didn't hear about the specials and we had a tough time flagging him down for a glass of wine. I don't think this is a problem with the whole of Tre Dita as we saw other tables receiving excellent attentive service, just not our table. Yes, it is expensive but we thought considering the quality of the food and the fantastic atmosphere, a good value.
